The finance industry is a broad and complex series of interlinked
businesses that crosses borders and involves a great deal of government
oversight and regulation. Most junior employees spotlight on their specific
roles and responsibilities, and in the process they miss
the 'forest for
the trees' and
often lack a detailed
and considered understanding
of how the industry works and makes money.
The objective of this course is for students to be able to identify the business models and key drivers of various types of financial firms, analyze the process by which they develop sustainable profitability, and critically assess the implications this has for the industry and their own work.
